Choosing Forgiveness - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
You have forgiven us more than we could ever deserve. Help us to remember that truth when we’re hurt or disappointed. Teach us to forgive freely and quickly, not because it’s easy, but because we’ve been shown such great mercy by You.
When pride whispers that we’re justified in holding on to resentment, quiet our hearts with the memory of the cross—where love bore every wrong and grace made a way for peace. Let that same grace rule in our marriage.
Give us humility to admit when we’re wrong and courage to extend forgiveness when we’ve been wronged. May our home be a place where bitterness fades, love endures, and Your Spirit brings restoration again and again.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. — Ephesians 4:31–32, KJV

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:31–32, NIV
