Choosing Gratitude - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the blessings You’ve given us, both great and small. We ask that You teach us to see them more clearly each day. Help us to resist the pull of discontentment—the temptation to compare, to grumble, or to take one another for granted. Instead, may our hearts overflow with gratitude for the gift of marriage and for the daily grace that sustains it.
When life feels ordinary or repetitive, remind us that love is built in the small things—shared laughter, quiet moments, and simple acts of care. We ask that You open our eyes to see Your goodness at work in the familiar. May we learn to give thanks not only for answered prayers, but also for the lessons hidden in waiting and in hardship.
Lord, let gratitude be the language of our home. As we thank You for one another, may our hearts grow softer, our words kinder, and our joy more complete. Keep us mindful that a thankful heart is a peaceful heart, and that every good gift we have is from You.
