Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You for the gift of love and the years, moments, and memories You allow us to share in marriage. For those walking through the pain of losing a spouse, we ask that You surround them with Your comfort. When the ache feels overwhelming and the quiet moments feel too heavy to bear, remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and attentive to every tear.

We ask that You hold their hearts gently as they navigate the days ahead. Give them strength for the moments when grief rises unexpectedly, and peace when loneliness tries to settle in. Help them remember that their sorrow is seen by You, and that their spouse’s life—every joy shared, every prayer lifted, every act of love—still bears fruit in ways they cannot yet see.

Lord, fill their hearts with hope rooted in the promise of eternity. As they reflect on the love they have lost, remind them of the greater love that remains: Christ with them, Christ for them, Christ carrying them through each day.

We ask that Your presence bring rest, that Your Word bring assurance, and that Your grace bring healing in its time. Hold them close, Father, and remind them that they do not walk this journey alone.
