Cultivating Patience - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the patience You show us each day—patient in our weakness, patient in our growth, patient in Your love. We ask that You help us to show that same patience toward one another. When emotions rise and understanding feels far away, remind us to slow down and listen with compassion.
Teach us to see one another through Your eyes, not through frustration or pride. Help us to remember that impatience rarely leads to peace, but that patience nurtures understanding, strengthens love, and reflects Your character within our home.
We ask that You shape our hearts to wait well—not with silent resentment, but with grace and humility. May the fruit of Your Spirit grow richly within us, producing gentleness where anger once ruled and kindness where irritation once lived.
Lord, may patience become the rhythm of our marriage—a quiet strength that steadies us when life feels rushed or uncertain. In every moment of delay or disappointment, help us to remember how patient You are with us, and let that truth soften our hearts toward each other.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
