Form Discernment Within Us — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the wisdom You provide to those who seek You. We ask that You form discernment within us—discernment that helps us recognize what builds peace and what tears it down, what draws us closer and what creates distance.
Teach us to see beyond the moment
so we recognize when to speak
and when to listen,
when to step forward
and when to simply pray.
Lord, help us discern our own attitudes—when pride is shaping our tone, when fear is steering our reactions, or when impatience is clouding our judgment. Give us clear sight so we can respond with wisdom rather than emotion.
We ask that You help us make choices that honor You and strengthen our unity. Let discernment guide our words, influence our decisions, and steady our hearts in challenging moments.
May this virtue take root in our marriage, shaping a love that is thoughtful, gracious, and deeply grounded in Your truth.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
