God Is Our Refuge (A Prayer From Psalm 46) –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our refuge and strength, a safe place we can always turn to in times of need. In this busy and sometimes overwhelming world, remind us that You are always present, steadying us through every challenge we face as husband and wife.
When the pressures of life feel too heavy or the storms feel too strong, help us to remember Your promise—that we don’t need to fear because You are with us. Teach us to lean on You together, finding peace in Your presence and strength in Your Word.
Lord, still our hearts when they’re restless and calm the anxieties that creep in. Teach us to “be still and know that You are God,” even in the middle of life’s chaos. Help us to hold onto each other with love and patience, just as You hold onto us with Your faithfulness and grace.
We ask You to bless our marriage, filling it with joy, unity, and hope. May our home be a place where Your peace dwells, and may our love reflect the strength and beauty of Your love for us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
{To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.} God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.. – Psalm 46, (KJV)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. – Psalm 46, (NIV)
