Godliness With Contentment

Godliness With Contentment — Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessings You have given us—our marriage, our home, and the daily provision You so faithfully provide. Help us to be wise stewards of all that You entrust to us, using our resources in a way that honors You. Teach us to seek wisdom over wealth, generosity over greed, and contentment over comparison.

Lord, guard our hearts from the temptation to measure our worth by what we have. Your Word reminds us that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). Let us find joy not in material things, but in knowing You and trusting in Your provision. When financial worries arise, may we turn to You instead of allowing stress to divide us. Strengthen us to make decisions together in unity, with faith rather than fear.

Help us to be diligent in our work, faithful in our giving, and grateful in all circumstances. Keep our hearts free from the love of money, and let us store up treasures in heaven rather than chasing after the temporary things of this world. May we always remember that true riches are found in You alone.

Lord, fill our home with peace, trust, and generosity. May we walk hand in hand, leaning on Your wisdom, seeking Your guidance, and finding joy in the simple gifts You provide each day.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:6-10, KJV

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:6-10, NIV
