Guarding Our Words

Guarding Our Words - Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You for the gift of speech and the power our words carry. We ask that You help us to guard our tongues so that our words bring healing, not harm. Teach us to pause before we speak, to choose gentleness over haste, and to remember that every word we say reflects what’s stored within our hearts.

When disagreements arise, may our words be seasoned with grace. When frustration builds, help us to respond with patience rather than anger. We ask that You remind us often that a soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up strife.

Lord, we desire a marriage where communication strengthens rather than divides—where words are used to encourage, to comfort, and to build one another up. May our speech be guided by love and shaped by Your Spirit, that our home might reflect the peace of Christ in every conversation.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse
