Jesus Could return At Any Moment – Today’s Marriage Prayer

Hey Besties! Our next Bible study, Living Faithfully: A Journey Through James, is hot off the press and ready to go!

Unlike the recent studies we’ve done, James takes us into the New Testament, where we find practical ways to live out our faith in tangible ways.

James challenges us to put our faith into action, reminding us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26). He encourages us to seek wisdom from God, live righteously, and endure trials with patience, knowing that perseverance leads to maturity in our faith. James also teaches us about the power of our words, the importance of caring for those in need, and the necessity of living a life that reflects our faith in every area. It’s going to be a great study, and so I do home you’ll join us!

Without further ado, pick up a copy of the study guide on Amazon, mark your calendars for September 17th, and join us at timewarpwife.com as we take this journey through James!

P.S. If you’re looking for a Bible study that you can do together as a couple at home, this one is perfect (if your husband doesn’t mind the girly front cover). 😉

P.S.S. When you purchase a copy of the study guide, you’re helping to support our ministry, which in turn ensures that everyone has access to these Bible studies at no cost.

Jesus Could Return At Any Moment

Jesus Could Return At Any Moment –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Grant us the wisdom to choose wisely and the courage to say “no” when temptation comes our way. We need discernment to navigate the daily choices we make, knowing that our decisions carry eternal significance. Strengthen us, Lord, to resist the urges that pull us away from You, and to make decisions that honor You in both word and action.

One of the greatest challenges we face today is guarding our minds in an age of instant access to temptation. The internet, while a tool for good, can quickly become a gateway to sin. With just one click, we can find ourselves in a dangerous spiral—one peek, one glance, and we risk being swept away by the desires of the flesh. Satan knows our weaknesses and lies in wait, seeking to devour like a lion hunting its prey. He watches, waiting for moments when our defenses are low, ready to exploit our vulnerabilities.

But Your Word tells us to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). So we ask for Your strength, Lord, to stand firm against his schemes. Empower us to cast down the arguments and justifications that try to excuse our own sin, and give us the clarity to walk away from the things that seek to entrap us. Help us to cling to what is true, noble, and pure (Philippians 4:8), making choices that bring You glory and align with Your will.

Teach us, Lord, to live each day with the urgency and expectation that Jesus could return at any moment. May the blessed hope of His return shape our lives, dictating our thoughts, actions, and priorities. Let this hope lead us to live in a way that is pleasing to You, so that when the day comes, we may stand before You confident, having done all to stand firm in the faith (Ephesians 6:13).

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. – 1 Peter 5:8-9, KJV

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. – 1 Peter 5:8-9, NIV
