Learning to pray together

Learning to Pray Together - Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You for the gift of prayer—the sacred invitation to draw near and speak with You. We ask that You help us to grow stronger together in this gift. Teach us to come before You as one, not only in times of trouble but also in moments of joy.

When life feels busy or distractions pull us apart, remind us that prayer unites our hearts in ways nothing else can. We ask that You help us overcome hesitation or discomfort, replacing it with a shared desire to seek Your will. As we pray together, may our faith deepen, our love mature, and our unity be strengthened by Your presence.

Lord, when words fail, may Your Spirit intercede for us. When one of us grows weary, let the other stand in faith. We ask that prayer would become the rhythm of our marriage—our first response, not our last resort.

May our home be a place where prayer is spoken freely, where gratitude overflows, and where every petition draws us closer to You and to each other.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. — Matthew 18:19–20, KJV

Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:19–20, NIV
