Learning to Serve One Another

Learning to Serve One Another - Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You for the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. We ask that You help us to follow His example within our marriage. Teach us what it means to serve one another in love—not out of obligation, but out of joy and devotion to You.

When selfishness whispers for attention, remind us that love flourishes in humility. We ask that You give us eyes to see each other’s needs and hearts that are eager to help. May our acts of service, whether seen or unseen, become expressions of worship—ways of saying “thank You” for the grace we’ve been shown.

Help us to remember that service is not about keeping score, but about growing in grace. When weariness sets in, give us strength; when discouragement comes, renew our hearts. May our willingness to serve draw us closer together, building trust, tenderness, and unity in our home.

Lord, may we reflect Your love through every act of kindness. As we serve one another, let our hearts be transformed by the same servant love that carried Your Son to the cross.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. — Galatians 5:13, KJV

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13, NIV
