Loving Beyond Ourselves - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the love You’ve poured into our hearts through Christ Jesus—a love that goes beyond emotion and endurance. We ask that You help us to love one another with that same selfless devotion, the kind that seeks to serve rather than to be served, to give rather than to gain.
Teach us to love when it’s inconvenient, to show kindness when patience runs thin, and to remember that love is not proven in comfort but in sacrifice. We ask that You keep us mindful that our marriage is a reflection of Your covenant love—a testimony of grace to the world around us.
When we are tempted to withdraw or to hold back affection, remind us of how freely You give Yours. May Your Spirit empower us to love beyond what we feel capable of—to forgive quickly, to extend mercy, and to keep choosing one another daily.
Lord, may our love be rooted in Your truth, nourished by Your Word, and strengthened by Your grace. We ask that our marriage would be a living picture of Your love—a love that endures, restores, and never fails.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. — 1 John 4:11–12, KJV

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. — 1 John 4:11–12, NIV
