Reaffirming Our Promises of Love –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of marriage and the vows that bind us together in love. Teach us to live out those promises with intention and grace, especially when life feels overwhelming. It’s easy to say, “I promise to love, honor, and cherish you,” but living those words in moments of fatigue, stress, or frustration can be challenging. In those moments, pride can sting, and selfishness can creep in, yet Your Word reminds us that You honor those who keep their oaths, even when it hurts (Psalm 15:4).
Help us, Lord, to pray for one another and to find ways to nurture our marriage daily. Let our love be active and alive, not merely in words but in the way we serve and care for each other. May we offer each other the best of ourselves—not what’s left over at the end of a busy day. Teach us to love sacrificially, as You have loved us.
Renew our commitment to one another through our actions, for actions often speak louder than words. Show us how to uphold our vows with joy and perseverance, reflecting Your faithfulness in our relationship.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse:
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;
but he honoureth them that fear the Lord.
He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
—Psalm 15:1-4, KJV

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind.
—Psalm 15:1-4, NIV
