Search Our Hearts, O Lord - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You that nothing in us is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You search our hearts today and reveal whatever keeps us from loving one another as we should. Show us the places where fear shapes our choices, or where old wounds still influence how we speak and respond.
When we are tempted to focus on what the other should change, teach us instead to examine ourselves first. Help us to recognize attitudes that need shaping, habits that need surrendering, and patterns of thought that need renewing. We ask that You help us to receive conviction with humility, knowing that Your correction is always an expression of Your love.
Lord, may the work You do within us bear fruit that blesses our marriage. Make us more patient, more gracious, and more aware of the ways our own hearts need Your transforming hand. Let the changes You bring in each of us draw us closer together, strengthening our unity and deepening our love.
We ask that You keep shaping us, Father, so our hearts better reflect the truth, mercy, and humility of Christ.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
