Strengthen Us Against the Enemy

Strengthen Us Against the Enemy –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You protect our marriage from evil. Strengthen us against the enemy. Don’t let him come between us or deceive us into believing a lie. May those who have been caught in the snare of the devil come to their senses and escape from his captivity.

Lord, increase our faith that we may manage our emotions well and offer each other grace. For it’s in the moments of testing that we’re most vulnerable to satan’s lies and deception. He’ll tell us to put ourselves first, to be more accepting of the ways of the world, and he’ll try to twist the truth and promote a lie.

Don’t allow him to divide us, to get a foot in the door, or to take a place in our marriage.

We belong to You, Lord. This marriage is built on our faith in Jesus Christ and abiding in your Word.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:10-17, KJV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.– Ephesians 6:10-17, NIV
