Teach Us to Choose Gentleness - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gentleness You show toward us—steady, patient, and full of mercy. We ask that You help us to choose gentleness within our marriage. When frustration rises or our words come out too quickly, remind us that gentleness has the power to calm, to heal, and to bring understanding where tension once lived.
Teach us to recognize the moments when gentleness is needed most—the weary moments, the hurried moments, the misunderstood moments. We ask that You help us to slow down before speaking, to soften our tone, and to allow Your Spirit to guide our responses.
Lord, may gentleness shape the way we approach every conversation, every conflict, and every challenge. Let our actions reflect compassion and our words reflect Your kindness. As we practice gentleness toward each other, strengthen the bond between us and make our home a place where tenderness is freely given.
We ask that You cultivate in us the gentle heart of Christ, showing through our marriage the quiet strength that comes from walking closely with You.
