Teach Us to Hold Fast to What Is Good

Teach Us to Hold Fast to What Is Good — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You for the goodness You have planted in our lives and in our marriage. We ask that You teach us to hold fast to what is good—especially when distractions pull at our attention or discouragement clouds our perspective. Help us cling to the truth of Your Word, the hope of Your promises, and the steady work You are doing within us.

Show us how to embrace the good we see in one another: the efforts made, the growth taking place, the small acts of love that reflect Your grace. We ask that You help us nurture these things with gratitude instead of overlooking them in the rush of daily life.

Lord, strengthen us to turn away from attitudes that hinder peace—complaint, impatience, or assumptions that do not honor one another. Help us build our marriage on what is true, right, and worthy of praise.

We ask that our hearts remain anchored in Your goodness so that, even when challenges come, we stand firm with hope. Let the good You cultivate in us become a testimony of Your faithfulness and a foundation for lasting love.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
