Teach Us to Keep Choosing Each Other—Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
When we stood before You on our wedding day, we made a promise. It was one day, one ceremony, one moment in time. But living out that promise happens in the everyday moments—in the conversations around the dinner table, in the choices we make when we’re tired, and in the quiet ways we show up for each other again and again.
Father, help us keep choosing each other.
When life feels busy, remind us not to put our marriage on hold until things settle down. When disappointments come, help us remember all the reasons we first thanked You for bringing us together. And when we don’t see eye to eye, teach us to protect our relationship instead of protecting our pride.
Help us choose forgiveness when it’s easier to stay offended. Help us choose understanding before jumping to conclusions. Help us choose kindness when our emotions tell us otherwise. May the little decisions we make each day strengthen the promises we made so long ago.
Lord, thank You for never giving up on us. Your love is faithful, patient, and steadfast, and we’re so grateful for that. Shape our hearts to reflect that same kind of faithfulness. May our marriage be built not on fleeting emotions, but on the daily decision to love well, to serve joyfully, and to keep walking toward one another as we follow You together.
