Dear heavenly Father,

Marriage has a way of reminding us that neither one of us has it all together. We forget things. We misunderstand each other. We speak too quickly, or carry the stress of the day into places it doesn’t belong. And sometimes, without meaning to, we expect more grace than we’re willing to give.

Father, help us leave room for grace.

When one of us makes a mistake, help the other respond with patience instead of frustration. When words don’t come out quite right, keep us from assuming the worst. Give us the humility to ask what was meant, the wisdom to listen carefully, and the willingness to forgive when an apology is offered.

Remind us how patiently You have dealt with us. You have corrected us without casting us aside, forgiven us more times than we can count, and continued Your work in us even when our progress has been slow. We ask that You help us show that same mercy to one another.

Lord, we don’t want our home to be a place where every failure is remembered and every weakness is measured. We want it to be a place where truth is spoken with love, repentance is sincere, and forgiveness makes room for a fresh start.

Thank You that Your grace does more than excuse our failures—it teaches us to turn from what is wrong and helps us grow in what is right. May that grace shape our marriage and make us more like Christ.
