Teach Us to Love as Christ Loves - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the love You have shown us in Christ—holy, undeserved, and unfailing. We ask that You teach us to love in a way that reflects that truth. Not merely in affection or convenience, but in the kind of love that endures when feelings shift and circumstances press hard.
Show us the parts of our hearts that still resist surrender. Reveal the places where selfishness hides, where pride closes doors, or where fear keeps us from giving fully. We ask that You shape us into people who love with conviction—who forgive quickly, serve willingly, and speak truth wrapped in grace.
Lord, help us to remember that our marriage is more than companionship; it is a testimony. It speaks of the gospel either clearly or faintly, depending on the posture of our hearts. We ask that our lives together point others toward Christ—the One who loved us to the end, who bore our sin, and who calls us to walk in that same sacrificial love.
May our marriage be a living witness that Christ changes everything: how we speak, how we give, how we forgive, and how we carry one another through joy and sorrow. Shape us, Lord, until our love resembles Yours.
