Teach Us to Make Room for Joy — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Life has a way of filling our calendars. There are meals to prepare, bills to pay, errands to run, and responsibilities that never seem to end. Before long, we can become so busy managing life that we forget to enjoy the life You’ve given us.
Father, we don’t want to lose our joy in the middle of all the ordinary.
Remind us to laugh together more often. Help us notice the little moments that make us smile—the shared joke that no one else understands, the memories that still make us laugh, the simple pleasure of sitting together at the end of the day. Teach us that joy doesn’t always arrive in big celebrations. More often, it’s found in the quiet moments we almost overlook.
When life feels heavy, lift our eyes to the blessings that are still all around us. Help us not to postpone joy until everything is perfect, because we’ll always find something that needs our attention. Instead, teach us to receive today’s gifts with thankful hearts.
Lord, thank You for being the Giver of every good gift. May our home be filled with the kind of joy that isn’t based on perfect circumstances, but on Your faithful presence. Help us build a marriage where laughter is welcomed, gratitude is often spoken, and Your goodness is remembered day after day.
