Teach Us to Walk in Kindness - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gentle ways You lead us, showing kindness that restores our hearts and steadies our steps. We ask that You help us to walk in that same kindness within our marriage. When stress rises or emotions run high, remind us to respond with tenderness instead of irritation, and with understanding instead of quick judgment.
Give us words that soothe, actions that lift burdens, and attitudes that reflect the compassion of Christ. We ask that You help us to pause before we speak, to notice when our spouse needs encouragement, and to offer kindness even when we feel stretched thin.
Lord, may kindness be the tone of our home—the quiet strength that calms storms, bridges misunderstandings, and builds trust. Help us to see that small kindnesses often carry the greatest impact: a gentle word, a patient response, a loving gesture offered without being asked.
We ask that You fill our hearts with the kind of love that chooses gentleness over frustration and seeks peace over winning. May our marriage reflect the kindness You have shown us again and again.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
