Teach Us to Yield Our Hearts to You

Teach Us to Yield Our Hearts to You — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We thank You that You work most deeply in the places we willingly open to You. We ask that You teach us to yield our hearts to You in every part of our marriage. Where pride resists, soften us. Where fear hesitates, reassure us. Where old wounds linger, bring Your healing touch.

Help us to release the need to control outcomes and instead trust the work You are doing within us. We ask that You guide our thoughts, temper our reactions, and shape our desires so they reflect the heart of Christ. Let Your Spirit steady us in moments when emotions rise and give us the grace to respond with gentleness and humility.

Lord, may yielding become our posture—not forced, but willing; not reluctant, but hopeful. Teach us that surrender is not weakness, but strength formed through dependence on You.

We ask that as we yield to You, our marriage be strengthened with peace, clarity, and love that flows from Your presence. Shape our hearts so that what grows between us reflects Your goodness and brings honor to Your name.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
