The Courage to Stand Up For Each Other –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today asking that You would help us to defend each other’s honor.

Keep us from saying anything negative about each other, unless it’s for the sake of restoration. If there is any disrespect on our part or on the part of another, may it not be tolerated, but gently corrected.

Give us the courage to stand up for each other, and the wisdom to be truly supportive. When we’re speaking to others, remind us to look for and to illustrate the goodness we find in our spouse.

As quickly and willing as we are to defend ourselves, may we be as willing to defend and protect the one we love with the utmost care and diligence.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
