Time Spent With You Is Not A Task But A Gift –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, acknowledging the importance of making time for You in our lives. We ask that You remind us to set aside moments each day to seek Your presence—through prayer, reading Your Word, and finding ways to uplift and encourage one another as husband and wife. Amid the busyness of our schedules and the weariness that life can bring, help us to recognize that just as our bodies rely on food for nourishment, our souls crave the sustenance that only time with You can provide.

Lord, we reflect on the example set by Christ in the gospels. Despite the demands on Him, He took deliberate steps to withdraw from the crowds to commune with You. He found strength and renewal in these moments, fasting and praying with unwavering dedication. When faced with temptation, He stood firm, disarming the enemy with the power of Your truth. May we, too, develop an enduring hunger for Your Word and be equipped to resist the challenges that come our way by speaking Your truth with conviction and faith.

Help us to understand that time spent with You is not a task but a gift—a source of strength that empowers us to be the partners, friends, and encouragers You call us to be for each other. Let our hearts be quickened by the knowledge that in Your presence, we find peace, wisdom, and the steadfast love that binds us together.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. – Matthew 4:2-4, KJV

After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:2-4, NIV
