A Note About Marriage Prayers

After nearly ten years of sharing daily marriage prayers with you, the time has come for us to bring this chapter of the ministry to a close.

Today’s prayer will be the final Marriage Prayer that we send out by email.

It’s hard to believe it has been nearly ten years. Over the years, we’ve prayed through so many seasons of marriage together—for patience and grace, for forgiveness and faithfulness, for our spouses, our homes, and most of all, for marriages that honour God.

We’re so thankful for every couple who has opened these prayers, prayed alongside us, shared them with a friend, or written to tell us how God used a particular prayer at just the right time. It has been a privilege to pray with you.

While the daily emails are coming to an end, the Marriage Prayers website will remain available at MarriagePrayers.today, where you can continue to read prayers from the past whenever you need encouragement.

And we’re not going anywhere. Darlene will still be writing Bible studies at TimeWarpWife.com. Michael will continue to post daily encouragement on our Facebook page, Time-Warp Wife.

As we close this chapter, our prayer is the same one we’ve carried throughout these years: that we would continue bringing our marriages before the Lord, trusting Him to shape our hearts, strengthen our homes, and teach us to love one another in a way that reflects Christ.

Thank you for being part of Marriage Prayers for all these years. We’re deeply grateful that you were here.

With love,
Darlene and Michael Schacht

Teach Us to Be Gentle With Each Other’s Hearts

To Be Gentle With Each Other’s Hearts—Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

Sometimes we forget just how tender the heart can be. A careless word can linger much longer than we intended, and a little kindness can mean more than we ever realized. We may not always know what the other person is carrying, but You do.

Father, help us handle each other’s hearts with care.

When we’re tired, keep us from becoming careless with our words. When we’re frustrated, help us remember that the person in front of us is someone we love deeply. Give us the wisdom to know when to speak, when to listen, and when a little extra grace is needed.

Teach us to notice the moments when our spouse needs reassurance instead of advice, comfort instead of correction, or simply the reminder that they are loved.

Lord, we ask that You make our home a place where hearts can rest. A place where honesty is welcomed, where weaknesses aren’t used against each other, and where kindness is never considered a small thing.

Thank You for the gentleness You have shown us. You know every weakness, every fear, and every place in us that still needs healing, yet You deal with us so patiently. Help us reflect that same tenderness in the way we love one another.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.Proverbs 12:18, KJV

The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18, NIV
