To Be Slow To Anger –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord, help us to be slow to anger and quick to let go of our frustrations. When we feel upset, show us how to pause, take a deep breath, and quiet our hearts in Your presence. Teach us to approach challenges with wisdom and discernment, setting aside impulse, emotion, and pride.
Once we embrace anger, it’s hard to let go, but we know that we should, Lord. Your word tells us, “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” (Proverbs 16:32). Father, we ask that You give us the strength to place our frustrations in Your hands, trusting You to restore us to peace and harmony.
May Your Holy Spirit guide us in all things. Rule in our hearts, Lord, and let Your peace flow through us into our marriage. If we’re holding onto unforgiveness or harboring unresolved anger, we ask that You take it from us, Father. Replace it with compassion, kindness, and a desire for reconciliation.
Let Your grace abound in our lives, and teach us to love one another as You love us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
