To Keep Our Eyes On You –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You help us to keep our eyes on You and off of this world.

It’s natural to want approval, acceptance, and confirmation. But if we’re looking for fulfillment, or to gain favor from this world — if we’re trying to please others more than You, our heart is in the wrong place.

We’re servants of Christ, not of this world. Bring us into obedience to Your will. Turn our hearts toward You and only You. Give us the wisdom to choose well, the faith to follow Your lead, and the courage to stand when our faith is put to the test.

Your Word isn’t popular with many, our faith isn’t mainstream, and the choices we make are confusing to those who do not believe. But we’re not here to please man, we’re here to glorify You.

Help us to do that, Lord. Help us to faithfully serve when our faith is tested and when others are standing against us.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
