To Recognize Empty Words

To Recognize Empty Words –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You, Lord, for the sacred vows we’ve exchanged, which have not only bonded us to one another but have also tied us closer to You. Yet, in this world fraught with temptations and trials, we pray earnestly for the grace to not be led astray by the error of the wicked.

Father, help us to recognize empty words and deceitful promises that divert our path away from You. Make us vigilant, Lord, discerning truth from falsehood, virtue from vice.

In a world that often glorifies quick fixes and temporary pleasures, let our eyes be fixed on what is eternal. May we be reminded that, “the world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:17, NIV)

Lord, fortify our marriage with the full armor so that we are not easily broken. We know that a cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart; let Your spirit be that third strand, unifying and strengthening our marriage in ways only You can.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. – Ephesians 5:6, KJV
