To Use Our Voices to Minister Grace

To Use Our Voices to Minister Grace –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

In Ephesians 4:29 we’re told to edify each other. We’re instructed not to let corrupt communication come out of our mouths, but to use our voices to minister grace.

And so we ask that You teach us to edify, Lord. Help us to build each other up, to strengthen each other with our words, and to spur each other on to good works.

Forgive us for the times we’ve used our words as weapons. Forgive us for tearing each other down when we could have been building each other up. Give us the strength and wisdom to minister grace.

Lead us to reflect on the humility of our Saviour. Help us to put evil influences and pride aside for the good of our marriage, and to esteem each other higher than ourselves.

Give us the grace to love through our imperfections, and to pray for each other daily.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of the Day

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. – Ephesians 4:29, KJV

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. – Ephesians 4:29, NIV
