To Value Each Other More Than Ourselves –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
This world moves so fast. Life is so busy some days that we put aside what’s really important. We forget to slow down. We forget what it means to be married.
Remind us to make time for Your Word, and for prayer. To value one another more than ourselves. Remind us to give generously to each other of our time, patience, understanding, and love.
Teach us to stop and listen, to lend a helping hand when we can, to be cheerful givers, and to reach out when we sense that the other one’s hurting.
Give us the wisdom to prioritize well, putting the needs of our spouse above that of our own.
Give us the mindset of Christ Who humbled Himself as a servant and gave up His life for ours.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. – Philippians 2:3-4 KJV
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. – Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
