Trusting the Work God Is Still Doing — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Your Word tells us that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion. Today we pause and remember—we are both still in process.
You are not finished with us yet.
Lord, when we see areas in each other that feel unchanged, guard us from discouragement. When growth seems slow, remind us that Your work is steady, even when it is not immediately visible.
Help us to be patient with the process—not only in ourselves, but in one another. Keep us from expecting instant maturity where You are still gently shaping.
Father, forgive us for the times we have been more focused on what is lacking than on what You are forming. Open our eyes to see the quiet evidence of Your work—small changes, softened responses, growing understanding.
Teach us to trust You with each other.
When we are tempted to correct too quickly or push too hard, slow us down. Remind us that transformation belongs to You. Our role is to love, to pray, and to walk faithfully alongside.
Lord, give us grace to see each other not only as we are today, but as who You are faithfully forming us to be. Let hope take root where frustration once stood.
You have begun something good in us—in this marriage—and we trust You to complete it in Your perfect time.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
