Walking in Humility - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for calling us to humility, the kind that mirrors the heart of Christ. We ask that You teach us to walk humbly in our marriage—to listen more than we speak, to serve rather than to be served, and to value one another above ourselves.
When pride begins to take root, remind us of Jesus, who laid aside His glory and became a servant for our sake. May His example shape how we love and how we lead. Help us to recognize that humility doesn’t weaken love—it strengthens it. It opens the door for reconciliation, understanding, and peace.
We ask that You help us to yield when we need to, to apologize when we’re wrong, and to forgive quickly when we’ve been hurt. Guard us against the need to always be right, and instead, give us hearts that desire to be right with one another and with You.
Lord, may humility be the ground on which our marriage stands—a quiet strength that honors You and draws us closer together in love.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. — Philippians 2:3–4, KJV

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. — Philippians 2:3–4, NIV
