Walking In Humility – Today’s Marriage Prayer

Join Our Current Bible Study

Ruth: Echoes of Christ, Our Kinsman Redeemer

Over the course of four weeks beginning Tuesday, February 20th, join me as we explore the profound significance of the unknown kinsman, uncover the rich symbolism of his shoe, and connect the dots to the Ten Commandments.

We’ll look back at the lives of Biblical characters like Lot, Perez, Judah, and Tamar, seeking to understand their roles in God’s story. Questions like ‘Where does Naomi fit into all this?’ and ‘Why is the timing of these events so crucial?’ will guide our exploration, as we uncover the beauty and depth of these Biblical narratives.

Karissa is also back to bless us each week with her insightful videos. If you would like more information on our study, visit our website.

Walking In Humility

Walking In Humility –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we stand hand in hand on this path of marriage, we humble ourselves before You, recognizing that true love thrives not on pride, but on humility. Strip away any arrogance that clings to our hearts, replace it with the gentle understanding that we are both works in progress, ever learning, ever growing.

Grant us the wisdom to see each other’s strengths with admiration, not envy, and their weaknesses with compassion, not judgement. Guide our tongues to speak words of encouragement, not criticism, and our actions to reflect a the heart of a servant.

In moments of disagreement, may we remember that the goal lies not in proving ourselves right, but in finding solutions together. Help us celebrate each other’s successes without comparing, and offer solace in times of struggle without blaming. May our love be a haven where vulnerability is embraced, and forgiveness flows freely.

Let humility be the cornerstone of our marriage, a foundation built on respect, empathy, and the knowledge that true strength lies in acknowledging our flaws and supporting each other through them. May our journey together be a testament to the power of love that humbles, unites, and endures.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. – Proverbs 16:18-19, KJV
