Walking in Unity of Heart and Mind — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Thank You for joining us together in marriage. You did not bring us into this covenant to live as two separate people moving in different directions. You called us to walk as one. And yet, we know how easily distraction, pride, and outside pressures can pull us apart.
Lord, help us pursue unity with intention. Align our hearts with Yours first, so that our hearts are aligned with each other. When we disagree, teach us to listen carefully and speak with humility. Guard us from the desire to win an argument at the cost of peace.
Give us shared vision and shared purpose. Help us support one another’s strengths and show patience with one another’s weaknesses. When one of us feels discouraged, let the other bring encouragement. When one feels uncertain, let the other bring steadiness.
Father, protect our marriage from division. Do not allow small misunderstandings to grow into distance. Prompt us quickly when something needs to be addressed. Keep short accounts between us, and let reconciliation come quickly.
May our unity reflect Your design. Let our children, our friends, and those around us see something steady and sincere—a marriage grounded in truth and love. Draw us closer to You and, in doing so, closer to one another.
We ask that You strengthen the bond between us and make our relationship a testimony of Your faithfulness.
