Quieting Your Heart – Advent Devotional Bible Study

Over the course of four weeks beginning Tuesday, November 28th, and leading up to Christmas, join me as we journey together through the rich biblical themes of Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace. Each day is a refreshing look at scripture, shedding light on timeless stories ranging from Jacob and Rachel’s enduring love to the inspiring resilience of Paul and Silas.

This advent-devotional Bible study is an invitation to rediscover the profound love of God, revealed in the humble birth of our Savior.

Karissa is also back to bless us each week with her insightful videos. If you would like more information on our study, visit our website.

We Have A New Nature

We Have A New Nature –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We’re two different people, each with a different set of ideas and personal preferences. We have our own expectations. We have our own needs. We interpret things differently and react to situations in our own unique way.

Help us to keep the lines of communication open while we’re growing together as one. Give us a heart of understanding that’s open to change.

It’s natural to want our own way — to live for ourselves rather than to die for each other. But we have a new nature, and our wants, our needs, and our desires should never be more important than the needs that we share as a couple.

In times when we are frustrated, help us express our needs in ways that aren’t selfish, demanding, or rude. We ask that You help to make us good listeners.

Give us a desire for our marriage that is stronger than self-centered pride. Grant us the strength to give up who we were for the sake of our marriage, and above anything else — by Your grace and for the sake of Your glory.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:1-2, KJV

_____________________________

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:1-2, NIV
