Dear heavenly Father,

Thank You for the refining work You continue to do in us. Marriage has a way of revealing blind spots — habits, attitudes, and patterns we might not see on our own. Today we ask You to give us humble hearts when correction comes.

Guard us from defensiveness. When our spouse points out something that needs growth, help us pause before reacting. Teach us to listen carefully instead of preparing a defense. Keep pride from closing our ears.

Lord, give us wisdom in how we offer correction as well. Let it be gentle, thoughtful, and rooted in love rather than frustration. Protect our marriage from harsh criticism or careless remarks that wound rather than strengthen.

Help us remember that refinement is a gift. You are shaping us into the image of Christ, and sometimes that shaping comes through the voice of the one closest to us. Give us courage to admit when we are wrong and grace to extend patience when growth takes time.

Father, form in our marriage a culture of teachability. Let repentance be natural and forgiveness be quick. May humility strengthen us and deepen our trust.

We ask You to keep our hearts soft, our responses steady, and our desire for growth sincere.
