What True Love Really Is –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We know that to love is to serve — to give of ourselves to others. And we want to serve each other as Christ served the church. Not because we have to, but because we have the desire to bring glory and honor to You.
Even when life was difficult, and death was imminent Jesus said, “Not my will, but Thine be done.”
What is hindering our walk? What is slowing us down? What is holding us back from serving You? It is sin that inhibits our growth and has no place in our lives.
We came into this marriage with the hope of giving our best. What we’ve come to learn is that when we love You with all of our heart, we love each other with all of our strength, and live according to Your will.
You’re the source of our goodness, our strength, and our hope. It’s by You that we’re learning to love. It’s in You that we find what true love really is.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
