When Life Weighs Us Down

When Life Weighs Us Down –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in gratitude for the gift of marriage. Your Word reminds us that “two are better than one, for if one falls, the other will lift up his fellow” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We have seen and experienced the beauty of this truth. Marriage is a blessing—a relationship where companionship, love, and support flourish, and where we lift each other up when life weighs us down.

When one of us hurts, we both feel the pain. When one mourns, we mourn together. We thank You for the comfort that comes from knowing we are not alone, but are bound together in love to share the ups and downs of everyday life.

Lord, we recognize that there is no lasting reward in selfishness. The true richness of marriage is found when we choose to serve one another in love, nurturing a relationship that strengthens both our souls. In the act of serving, we find deeper unity, peace, and joy, knowing that our love grows when we give of ourselves.

We ask for Your help, Lord, as we walk this journey together. Help us to be there for one another in every season—whether in joy or sorrow, ease or challenge. Strengthen our unity so that we may bear one another’s burdens with patience and grace. And when we stumble, Lord, give us the wisdom to restore one another in love, knowing that the bonds we build in You are unbreakable.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. – Galatians 6:1-2, KJV

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. – Galatians 6:1-2, NIV
