Words That Build Up - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Your Word tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. We know how easily our words can bless or wound, especially in marriage. Too often we speak quickly, letting impatience or frustration take the lead instead of kindness and grace.
Teach us to be careful with what we say. Let our words be seasoned with gentleness, encouragement, and truth. When we’re tempted to tear down, remind us that every harsh word leaves a mark, but every kind word strengthens love.
Give us the wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent, and the humility to ask forgiveness when our words cause harm. May our marriage be filled with conversations that bring life, hope, and joy—conversations that reflect the love of Christ.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
