Yielding To Your Spirit –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
A negative outlook has a way of bringing us down. Insensitive words can sow the seeds of rejection, leaving us feeling defeated, and crushed. We want more for our marriage, Lord. We want more for each other. We’re committed to making our marriage work, and we’re committed to yielding to Your Spirit.
Teach us to communicate with compassion and grace. Show us ways to build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Give us the wisdom to hold our tongue when we’re frustrated so that we might speak wisely and well.
Help us to listen, really listen, not just to each other but also to that gentle prompting within us that speaks of love over argument, understanding over confusion, and unity over discord. May our words be permeated with the love that only comes from a heart tuned to Your Spirit, and may our actions reflect that same Spirit-led guidance.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
