A Very Real Enemy – Today’s
Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

When we submit ourselves to You, we are acknowledging that You are in control. We are surrendering our will and our desires to Your perfect plan for our lives. It’s not always easy, especially when we don’t understand what You are doing or why You are allowing certain things to happen in our lives. But we know that when we trust in You and submit to Your will, we have peace and confidence that You are working all things together for our good.

Satan is a very real enemy who seeks to destroy us. He wants to steal our joy, our peace, and our faith. But when we resist him, we are taking a stand against his lies and his schemes. We are saying, “you have no power over me.” We are assured by Your word that he will flee from us. The devil cannot stand against Your power.

Your word says that when we put our trust in You and rely on Your strength, we can overcome any temptation or attack that comes our way. We ask that You help us to submit ourselves to You and resist the devil. To trust in Your power and Your plan for our lives.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. – James 4:7-10, KJV
