Forgive and Be Forgiven

Forgive and Be Forgiven –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We’ve both made mistakes. We’ve both said things, and done things that we wish we hadn’t.

If we were able to take back some of those days and redo them, we would. We’d make them better. We’d live every day to the fullest. We’d pray fervently. We’d spend time in Your Word. We’d let go of the small stuff. We’d hold our tongues when we’re angry. We’d apologize quickly. We’d try to see things from the other’s point of view. We’d complain less and love more. We’d cherish each other the way that we should.

We can’t take back what’s already been said. We can’t redo what’s already been done. But we can forgive and be forgiven. Thank you for the opportunities You give us today and the ones you give us tomorrow. Help us to live wisely and to love well.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:7-9, KJV
