To Accomplish Great Things

To Accomplish Great Things
– Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Sometimes, we may feel like we don’t have much to offer one another. We may think that we’re too weak, too unimportant, or too inexperienced to make a significant impact. But You see things differently. You see strength in humility, and You know what we’re capable of accomplishing through Your grace.

We thank You that we don’t need to be impressive for You to use us for Your purposes. In fact, our weaknesses and imperfections can be used to bring glory to You, as we rely on Your grace to work through us. Our brokenness is not a barrier to Your love; it’s an opportunity for You to shine through.

Thank You that You can use anyone, regardless of their status, education, or abilities. Thank You that we can trust that You have a plan for our lives and that You will equip us with everything we need to carry it out. May we be vessels of mercy, shaped by Your grace, able to accomplish great things for Your kingdom.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, KJV

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, NIV
