To Be Selfless In Our Actions

To Be Selfless In Our Actions –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We’re surrounded by blessings and immersed in a lifetime of gifts. Some that we cherish and others we hardly acknowledge are there.

Our marriage, our family, our friends, our jobs, our home, our health, our food, our church, and the comfy blankets we curl up with at night. Your grace is endless. Your love never fails. Thank You for giving in the way that You do. We pray that we may always be generous with our love, kindness, and forgiveness towards one another. Help us to be selfless in our actions and to put each other’s needs before our own.

Your Word tells us to give to the poor. It teaches us that whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. It teaches us to be open-handed and to lend to those in need. It tells us that You love a cheerful giver.

As You have poured out your blessings on us, teach us to pour out blessings on others. Remind us to open the doors of our home as we open the doors of our heart—welcoming others and sharing Your love.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. – Luke 6:38, KJV

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. – Luke 6:38, NIV
