To Practice Self-Control in All Things

To Practice Self-Control in All Things –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

The world of social media can be a blessing, but it can also be destructive if we’re not making wise choices.

Help us to practice moderation — putting down our phones when we’re together and closing the laptop for some face-to-face time. Teach us to use these tools wisely, and open doors for us to minister to others through them.

Give us the strength to exercise self-control in all things. We don’t want to become careless and have social media overwhelm our time, so we’re asking for help to live disciplined lives that are honoring and pleasing to You.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. – Proverbs 25:27-28, KJV

It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.  Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. – Proverbs 25:27-28, NIV
