We Become A Mighty Force –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You help us to stay focused on Your truth, so that we may overcome ungodly thoughts before they take root. Your Word tells us to take all thoughts captive to Christ Jesus, to keep our bodies from sin, and to guard our hearts according to Your Word. The smallest temptation can take root as a thought and grow into sin if we allow it an entrance.

What may start out as a seemingly harmless thought or intention can grow into something overwhelming if we entertain them and allow them to grow.

Genesis 4:7 says if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. Give us the strength to let go of anger and any resentment we may hold.

Help us to heal from those things we have lost, to be content with the things that we have, and to dwell on our future together instead of the past.

Remind us to count the many blessings we have, and to find joy in each other, and all who are in Christ.

With You and through You, we become a mighty force, filled with Your Spirit, and ready and able to fight for our marriage.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
