We Need To Be In Prayer

We Need To Be In Prayer –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You help us to press on toward the mark, even if we are tempted to give up — to renew our strength even if we want to just sit on the sidelines.

Paul writes, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:14

How many prayers could have been offered to You that were not? How many lost opportunities? We can’t change yesterday, but we can change today. We may have given up in the past, but there’s a future before us that’s waiting for us to accomplish much better things.

We need to be in prayer, and to stay in prayer if we are to live to Your honor and glory. We need to be in prayer in order for us to stand strong when it comes to our marriage and stand firm when it comes to our faith. To dig into Your Word, and have eyes to see Your truth. To choose the love of Christ, rather than love for this world.

We ask that You transform us by the power of prayer.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. – 1 Peter 1:3-5, KJV

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. – 1 Peter 1:3-5, NIV
