Showing Us The Depth of True Love –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Reading Your word we see Ruth who gave up everything she held dear to follow her mother-in-law, Naomi, into an unfamiliar land.

We read about Jacob who served Laban seven years for Rachel. “They seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her” (Genesis 29:20). And then he served another seven.

We read about Elkanah who was a great comfort to his wife Hannah in her time of sorrow (1 Samuel Chapter 1).

We see a love greater still when we look to Your Son who gave His life so that we might live. Thank you for showing us the depth of true love. Please help us to live that truth without wavering.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
