To Speak Truthfully To One Another –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, hand in hand, hearts intertwined, seeking Your guidance in our marriage. Lord, we long for courage, courage to communicate with openness, honesty, and love. You have shown us through Your Word how to speak the truth in love, and we seek to reflect that in our relationship with one another.
Father, remove the masks of pretense that can so easily find their way into our hearts. Teach us to be transparent, to share our feelings, our fears, and our dreams with each other. Let us embrace vulnerability, recognizing that in our weakness, You are our strength.
We ask that You guide us, O Lord, to speak truthfully to one another. Let our words be a bridge that connects, not a wall that divides.
Grant us the wisdom to listen with empathy, understanding that our spouse’s feelings are a precious gift to be cherished. Let us be slow to speak and quick to hear.
Bind our hearts together with cords of love that cannot be broken. May our communication be a testimony of Your grace, reflecting the relationship You desire to have with us.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
